Many eligible families never use the dental benefit their children are entitled to. The CDBS is a Medicare benefit for basic dental care for eligible children and teenagers. We accept the CDBS. It is not bulk billed, so a gap payment applies, which we explain before treatment.

Can my child have all their dental work done in one go under anaesthetic?
Usually yes. Where a child cannot manage treatment awake, every tooth needing work is planned into a single appointment and completed while they are asleep, with the child going home the same day.
Do you treat children under general anaesthetic?
Yes. Where a child genuinely cannot manage treatment awake, every tooth needing work can be completed in one appointment while they are asleep. Suitability is assessed medically before anything is booked, and what it costs is set out in writing at the same time.
Is there help with the cost of children's dentistry?
Reception checks what your child is eligible for when you book, so you know before the appointment rather than at the counter afterwards. Whatever applies is set out in your written plan with the item numbers, and payment plans are available. Ring the practice and reception will go through it.
What happens at a child's first dental visit?
First visit, we do nothing. The chair goes up and down, which is the bit they actually want. Everything gets demonstrated on a giraffe before it comes anywhere near a mouth. If we get as far as counting the teeth, that is a good day. Then a sticker, which is apparently non-negotiable.
Do you take health funds?
Yes, all health funds are accepted. HICAPS is available on site, so your rebate is applied at the time of payment. What you pay on the day depends on your level of cover.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. Payment plans are available through humm, Zip, Dossh and TLC, subject to the provider's approval. Reception can go through the options with you before treatment is booked, alongside a written estimate.
Are you a preferred provider for my health fund?
No. A2ZDental isn't a preferred provider for any health fund, which leaves us free to give you great service and value without compromise. All health funds are accepted, and HICAPS claims your rebate on the spot, so what you pay on the day depends on your level of cover.
Do you take Afterpay?
We don't offer Afterpay. Payment plans are available through humm, Zip, Dossh and TLC, subject to the provider's approval, and reception can go through the options with you before treatment is booked.
