- A tooth feels sensitive, chipped or different
- You want one practice for the whole family
- You have not seen a dentist for a while and want a fresh start

We ask about your health, any concerns and what you would like from your visit.

We check your teeth, gums and mouth, and take X-rays if they are needed.
Clean
We remove plaque and tartar and polish your teeth.
Plan
We explain what we found, any treatment options and the costs, so you can decide.

Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth daily, and keep sugary food and drinks to mealtimes. Book your next check-up before you leave so it is not forgotten.

Questions about general dentistry
Clear answers to the questions our patients ask most.
How much is a check-up and clean in Rockhampton?
The figure comes after the examination. What moves it is how much cleaning is needed and whether X-rays change the answer. A first appointment is 30 minutes and produces a written plan with the sequence and the item numbers for your health fund. HICAPS is on site, so any rebate comes off on the day.
What help is available with the cost of children's dental care?
Reception checks what your child is eligible for when you book, so you know before the appointment rather than at the counter afterwards. Anything that applies is itemised in the written plan, and payment plans are available for the rest.
How much does a filling cost?
It depends on the size of the cavity and which tooth it is in, which is why the figure comes after the examination rather than before it. You are quoted before treatment begins, not after. Payment plans are available — ask reception when you book.
How often should I have a check-up?
Every six to twelve months suits most adults. If you have gum disease, a high decay rate or a dry mouth, more frequent visits are usually recommended. Your dentist will suggest an interval based on what they find rather than a fixed rule.
What happens at a first appointment?
An examination, usually X-rays, and a discussion of what you want addressed. Nothing irreversible happens at the first visit without your agreement. You leave with a written plan and costs.
I have not been to a dentist in years. Is that a problem?
No, and it is more common than people think. The first visit is an assessment, not a lecture. Treatment is staged so you can deal with the urgent things first and plan the rest.
What does general dentistry cover?
Most of what protects your teeth for a lifetime happens in a thirty minute appointment that finds nothing dramatic. Examination, imaging where it is indicated, and a written plan you take away. If nothing needs doing, that is what the plan says.
