Is this right for me?
Every mouth is different. Your dentist will confirm what suits you after an examination.
- Your front teeth are stained in a way whitening cannot fix
- Teeth are chipped, worn, uneven or have small gaps
- You want a longer-lasting change than bonding
- Your teeth and gums are healthy
What happens
Design
We take photos and scans and plan the shape and shade with you.
Prepare
Under local anaesthetic we gently reshape the front of the teeth and take a scan.
Temporaries
You wear temporary veneers while the porcelain ones are made.
Bond
We check the look and fit with you, then bond the veneers in place.
Recovery and aftercare
Treat veneers like natural teeth: brush, clean between them and keep your check-ups. Do not bite hard objects such as ice or pens. If you grind, a night guard protects them.

Questions about porcelain veneers
Clear, direct answers to help you make informed decisions.
How long do veneers last?
Well-made veneers commonly last many years, but they are not permanent and will need replacing at some point. Longevity depends on the material, how your bite loads them, and whether you grind. Grinding without a night splint is the most common reason they fail early.
Do veneers damage the teeth underneath?
Most veneers involve preparing the tooth surface, which does not grow back, so it is a decision to take deliberately. How much preparation is needed varies with the material and the starting position of the teeth. Some cases suit a more conservative approach, and that is worth exploring at assessment before committing.
What is the difference between a veneer and a crown?
A veneer covers the front surface of the tooth. A crown covers the whole tooth. Veneers involve less preparation and suit teeth that are structurally sound; a crown is generally used where the tooth is heavily filled, cracked or root treated.
Can I have just one veneer?
Yes, and it is common after a single chipped or discoloured front tooth. Matching one veneer to neighbouring natural teeth is technically demanding, and shade matching is easier when the surrounding teeth are whitened first if that is planned.
What are the alternatives to veneers?
Depending on what is bothering you — whitening for colour, bonding for small chips, aligners for position, or a crown where the tooth is heavily restored. Veneers are one option among several, and the least involved option that achieves the result is worth discussing first.
How much do veneers cost in Rockhampton?
The figure comes after an assessment. What drives it is how many teeth are being treated, how much work each tooth needs beforehand, and the material and finish chosen. You are quoted in writing, itemised per tooth, before anything is started.
What do veneers involve?
A thin ceramic facing, bonded to the front of the tooth. Enamel comes off first and does not grow back, which is why the simulation comes before the decision. For some people whitening and a small amount of bonding gets them where they wanted to be for far less.
